Maintenance day

Yesterday was mostly a maintenance day since Bo had an appointment at Petsmart to be groomed and we needed to do a little shopping for supplies. We also had to give some attention to the motorhome holding tanks. The gray tank periodically becomes slow to drain and my suspicion is that during manufacture one of the cutouts for a connecting pipe dropped down into the tank and was not removed. We have to play tricks to create a back flow moving what ever is there out of the way. One day I plan to cut a hole in the tank and inspect it with a camera. Access is difficult so we continue to put the task off. It is like bad windshield wipers, you forget about them until you need them. Another fun chore was removing the black tank flush nozzle and cleaning it. As we travel material sloshes around and eventually stops up the holes in the nozzle. For those who are not RV savvy, the gray tank holds sink and shower water and the black tank holds sewage from the toilet.  Doesn't that sound fun! Thank goodness for nitrile gloves.

After dropping Bo off at Petsmart we noticed an interesting place to eat across the parking lot. What caught our attention was the name, "The Blind Onion Pizza and Pub". Now don't ask me what a blind onion is because I fail to understand how an onion could be blind, but the name certainly fished us in. We bit and decided to check it out. The pizza was good and the crust around the rim was approximately and inch in diameter. We were told that many patrons save the large crust from the rim and dip them in honey for desert. A large container of honey is provided on each table. They will also provide marinara sauce for the same purpose. We tried both. It seems that the restaurant is a local chain of three and only in the Reno area.

Today is forecast to be the best weather day for our four night stay here in the Reno area. Sun is shinning now as I write this. That has motivated us to drive up to Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City today.
