Another nasty travel day

We awoke to a drizzling rain yesterday morning and chose to eat cereal and not cook breakfast. The temperature was still cold and in the high thirties when we left the campground. As we progressed down I-80 the rain intensified and at times made for unpleasant driving. The temperature increased slightly into the forties and spared us from snow or freezing rain. On and off thru the day the rain came and went and finally changed to sunshine after we arrived at our campground in Sparks, NV. Sparks is a suburb of Reno and it is difficult to tell where one stops and the other starts. Towing a vehicle behind the motorhome subjects it to all the grime thrown back from the wheels of the motorhome. This condition is exacerbated when driving in rain and it was necessary to run our vehicle thru a car wash after arrival. You could barely see out the windows and when we removed the bikes and bike rack there was sand and grit all over the bike rack and bikes.

Almost there

Our dog Bo has a grooming appointment today at Petsmart. Wheaten Terriers do not shed and must be groomed. You might say he sheds our pocket book. We tried grooming him once but dogs are like children and behave for everyone but their parents, or in this case owners. Petsmarts are located in most larger communities throughout the US including Alaska. We used the Petsmart in Anchorage when we were there in 2016. Bo is in their computer system with his recent shot record. When we call the Petsmart database is linked to our cell phone number and they know immediately who we are. We tried to get Bo an appointment in Salt Lake City but all the Petsmarts were booked out two weeks. There are three Petsmarts in the Reno area and the first two we called were booked for the time period we would be here. Fortunately we found a spot at the last one. That motivated us to call ahead and make him an appointment for Portland, OR in June. We are still learning how to do long term travel in the motorhome.
